Happy Sunday guys! I know three posts in three days whatttttt?? So I just introduced a new segment into my blog which is a wellness segment. I really believe that what you put into your body is very important because your body is a temple and it needs to be taken care of. I try my best to eat clean especially when I’m home and I can cook for myself, but it’s not always that easy. Totally beside the point I have a new segment!
My first wellness post is about matcha which is my absolute fave! If you know me, you know how much I rave about this drink and how important it is to me. This DJ badass wellness beauty called Hannah Bronfman introduced me to this super drink and I’m forever grateful. Matcha is just powdered green tea and it includes all parts of the leaf of which are usually missing from the regular green tea bags. It also has higher antioxidant levels compared to regular green tea , it leaves you feeling so relaxed and has an endless list of benefits. The color is what got me because it has this bright green color that is just gorgeous. That’s also how you know if it’s good quality because good quality matcha should be bright green. If it’s a dark green color that means that it’s not fresh (think fresh greens vs ones that have been in the fridge for a while)
Not everyone loves matcha though, it has an earthy taste to it and my roommate says it tastes like dirt (still mad about that Djalina). the drink is not terrible at all, Djalina is just a little bit extra. I love to make my own matcha and I find that it tastes way better when I make it myself because no offense some barista who aren’t matcha drinkers sometimes don’t get it right. It could be blended, drank hot or iced, over milk (any kind) or just plain water. You could also add extra ingredients to it like coconut oil and collagen and blend to make it frothier. I had the matcha in the first photo in Chicago at Intelligentsia coffee and it was hands down the best matcha I’ve ever had! This is my all-time favorite drink and if you haven’t already, I hope you jump onto the matcha train as well.
Thanks for tuning in!
